Copenhagen Jazzhouse, Saturday

Photographer Liv Carlé Mortensen on stage in Copenhagen Jazzhouse, reading from her book "Amazon" at "Kvindestemmer 2009" on Saturday, March 28, 2009. This photo was taken from the technicians back stage area, where I pressed the play button for Liv's keynote presentations, showing images from the "Amazon" series and from "Glory me", the latter being the title of the next book from Liv Carlé.
__Several other great performances filled the programme – Dy Plambech kicked off the afternoon reading from her book "Texas Rose", making the 70 something people in the audience laugh and feel good from the start. Janni Olsen and Maja Lucas also read from their recent books, and after a mini cabaret of Danish songs from the 30ies, two very intense music sessions mixed both nationalities and instruments – Irene Becker and Charlotte Halberg playing piano and flute on stage with Yu Jun playing the traditional harp from her native China; and Shohreh Shahrzad playing the daff (traditional Iranian drum) accompanied by (or was it the other way around?) Kathrine Heilesen experimenting with both her strong voice and her collection of old string instruments.
__The third incarnation of "Kvindestemmer" will be followed by a fourth next year – "this event is now a tradition" as the host of the day, Lisbeth Tolstrup, announced between the performances.
