The board of the Society for News Design Scandinavia have announced a remarkable change in the structure of the Best of Scandinavian News Design competition, which as from 2009 will be divided into two parallel tracks – one for print, and one for online entries. The change was unanimously agreed upon at the board meeting in Copenhagen on Saturday, November 29, 2008, on a proposal from the jury of last year's web competition, headed by Kim Pedersen.
With the new structure, the online media will be elevated from a mere category in the competition to have its own competition – with several categories of online design for media to enter their sites in – e.g. 'Best Online Front Page', 'Best Online Application', 'Best Overall Site Design' et al. This will, hopefully, attract more entries from online media in the whole of Scandinavia.
Further details about the new categories in the competition, and directions for entering in the competitions – print or online, or both – are available on the SNDS website, www.snds.org
On the agenda were also the preparation of the 2009 Oulu seminar, and the problem of finding people who are willing to contribute to the organizations printed and online publications – the SNDS Magazine and the website: www.snds.org, respectively.
